If you are an IT professional, then you are very frequently asked to “Up skill yourself, you need to keep up with the new updates”. Also, the new AI boom has been affecting several professionals. It is amazing that we are coming up with new technologies which can replace human … But wait!! What does that mean to our business? How does it affect our career growth? How do we sustain the ever-changing market trends?

Well!! I think the answer is to Change and Evolve into something new!!

Below is a story extract from the theory of “Origin of Species” by Charles Darwin

Long ago a thousand of years ago, giraffes did not have long necks, they were also grazing the grass and herbs from the ground. Well! let’s say, the demand for grass and other greens on the ground increased because there were several animals like Deer, Zebras, wild boars feeding on these greens.

Imagine a scorching sun, a summer one of its kind, the first greens to get affected is the greens on the ground, a season when rains were delayed meant shortage of food on the ground only left with dry lands and dried grass.

So one of the smart giraffe decided to start tasting the leaves from the trees which stayed green, which were reachable for it. Tasted better than grass, the leaves stayed fresh, dint have to deal with the sharp edges.  There were many trees untouched, food was always present for them. Also, you dint have to bother about the weeds which had thorns or causing irritation.

This smart giraffe started craning his neck to reach the trees, his fellow bunch of giraffes also started following him. One of them gave birth to babies which liked the same food, followed his parents, started to feed on the same leaves. 

And even to this day, there has been no looking back. They have never felt dearth of food. We have a new species of animals, an absolute stunner to look up to. They have only been growing upwards.

 

Now coming to us as human beings, we are on the same sort of roads, if you feel like life is getting nowhere, be the smart giraffe, take the first step of evolution, only to make History!!
